Ford has just made their new ST-Line model range available to European customers looking for a Ford Performance-inspired take on regular everyday hatchbacks.

In the UK, Fiesta ST-Line customers will be able to purchase the model from £15,645, while those looking to invest in the larger Focus ST-Line will have to spend upwards of £20,595, with a choice of EcoBoost petrol and TDCi diesel powertrains.

Ford’s Fiesta & Focus ST-Line are being offered with sport suspension and body styling, unique wheel design, sports seats, sport steering wheel, alloy pedals and even the company’s award-winning 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol unit.

“With our new ST-Line range even more customers can experience sporty style and driving dynamics inspired by our most exciting Ford Performance line-up ever, that includes models such as the Focus RS, new Fiesta ST200 and Ford GT supercar,” explained Roelant de Waard, Ford Europe marketing & sales VP. “This year we expect to sell 40,000 performance cars in Europe, a 50 per cent increase compared with 2015, which in turn saw performance car sales by 61 per cent compared to 2014.”

Where the Fiesta ST-Line is available in both 3-door and 5-door body styles, customers can buy the Focus ST-Line as a both hatchback and as an estate – which according to Ford further enhances the appeal of what is a very popular family car.

In a nutshell, the ST-inspired styling includes a honeycomb design for the trapezoidal front grille, dark surrounds for the fog lamps, and either a front bumper lip (Fiesta) or a bumper insert (Focus). Other external and internal features include the rear diffuser element and large rear roof spoiler (both models), black beltline under the windows, deep side-skirts and ST-Line badgeing on the front wings. As for the wheels measure, they measure 17″, feature a unique design and come in Rock Metallic Gray.

Inside, there are sports seats with red stitching and a perforated leather ST-style steering wheel with gray stitching. The ST-style gear knob, dark woven headliner and ST-Line scuff plates complete the package.

In terms of performance, all Ford ST-Line models sit closer to the road by 10 mm (thanks to the sport suspension). Available engines in the Fiesta ST-Line range include the 100PS/125PS/140PS 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol units, as well as the 95PS 1.5-liter TDCi. Focus customers will be able to choose between the 125PS 1.0-liter EcoBoost, 150PS/182PS 1.5-liter EcoBoost, 120PS 1.5-liter TDCi and the 150PS 2.0-liter TDCi. Furthermore, Focus ST-Line models will come with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters as long as the optional automatic transmission is also purchased..

“The new Fiesta ST-Line and Focus ST-Line will offer customers a chance to enjoy the famous fun-to-drive characteristics and great looks of Ford’s performance models in an exciting and affordable package with a broad range of petrol and diesel engines – and we will be introducing two further models later in the year,” concluded de Waard.
