Want to get behind the wheel of the new Shelby GT-H? You can’t buy one – you can only rent one, and only from Hertz, starting this Memorial Day weekend.

Shelby unveiled the new GT-H at the New York Auto Show just a couple of months ago, rekindling a relationship with the rental car company that stretches back to the first GT-H of 1966 and the last one from 2006.

Its 5.0-liter V8 pumps out the same 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque as the standard Ford Mustang GT, but it’s been prepared by the folks at Shelby American with a cat-back exhaust, upgraded suspension, 19-inch alloys, enhanced bodywork and a special livery.

Setting it apart from ordinary ‘Stangs, the GT-H features a vented hood and a front splitter and rear spoiler made from carbon fiber. It’s all done up in black with gold racing stripes, with all the special badges you’d expect, both inside and out.

The GT-H joins Hertz’s Adrenaline Collection of vehicles starting this Memorial Day weekend at 17 airport locations across the United States. If the Shelby doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are other hunks of American muscle available as part of the same collection, including Challengers, Camaros, and Corvettes. The Prestige Collection offers Mercedes SLKs and Infiniti crossovers, with the Dream Cars option throwing Porsches, Jaguars and BMWs into the mix. All of these, of course, are more exciting than the typical Toyota Corolla or Chevy Impala, but naturally come at a cost.
