McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is responsible for some of the hottest supercars Woking has to offer and it seems that another one could be just around the corner.

Previous info on a track-focused version of the 675LT came in the form of a report, which suggested that it could wear the 688HS (High Sport) badge. Now, a prototype has been scooped on the A26 motorway, near Reims, France, adding more credibility to it.

The image posted by SupercarsClubPrivate shows a camouflaged McLaren supercar with a roof scoop and fixed rear wing.

The source also claims that it will be named the 688 High Sport and could gain an extra 13 PS (13 HP) on top of the 675LT, bringing the total to 688 PS (678 HP).

If MSO is indeed developing such a model, it could put it on a diet, too, dropping a few kg from the 1,230 kg (2,712 lbs) 675LT and improving its 2.9 seconds 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time. The 488 Speciale might find something wicked coming its way when it launches…
