The first crossover from Jaguar has a lot to prove as it enters one of the hottest segments of the market.

Thanks to its clever positioning, the new Jaguar F-Pace wants to steal sales not only from models like both the Audi Q5 and Q7 but also the Porsche Macan.

After all, it’s no secret that Jaguar benchmarked the latter in terms of handling. The aluminum structure of the body helps the F-Pace to keep the weight as little as 1,665kg, making it lighter than most of its competition.

The wide engine lineup includes an 180PS (177hp) 2.0-liter diesel manual RWD/ AWD and automatic AWD, a 240PS (237hp) 2.0-liter petrol automatic RWD, a 300PS (296hp) 3.0-liter diesel automatic AWD, and 340PS (335hp) and the range-topping 380PS (375hp) 3.0-liter petrol automatic AWD.

Auto Express delivers their first driving impressions of the new Jaguar while Autocar has a chat with the JLR’s chief engineer on the new F-Pace.
