There is no denying that the McLaren 675LT is one of the coolest and best ways to get a headache from the lateral Gs.
The British supercar maker took the already lightning-quick 650S and followed by a diet and a bit of a workout, created the 675 Long Tail, a 666hp monster that’s 100kg (220 pounds) lighter that the car it’s based on.
0-62mph takes just 2.9 seconds, 0-124mph in 7.9 seconds and top speed is 205mph. Mclaren also worked on the aerodynamics of the body in order for the 675LT to offer 40 per cent more downforce than the standard model. That’s right; that huge wing at the back is there for a very important reason.
With the coupe version limited to just 500 units globally, the McLaren 675LT asks for almost $150k more than the ‘normal’ 650S which brings the price up to around $400k. And that begs the question: we know that the new Long Tail is a better supercar than the 650S, but is it $150k better?
Motor Trend tries to answer this, in their latest Ignition episode.
