What happens when you combine one of the best straight-six engines with one of the most iconic BMWs?
The E30 platform is perhaps the go-to place for fans looking to build their perfect BMW on a budget, as it provides compact dimensions, lightness and a lot of tuning options.
This E30 Coupe started life as a regular 325i before its owner decided to throw the 3.2-litre S54 engine from the E46 M3 in it. The build was completed with a five-speed manual gearbox and a steering rack from a E36 M3.
Don’t expect a concours condition car though as this project started first and foremost with driving in mind, an approach that are so happy to see spreading around.
After the necessary suspension, tires and brakes, this E30 is probably one of the greatest and most honest project cars you will see. Matt Farrah drives it in his latest One Take video and the smile on his face tells it all.
