After Mercedes revealed its first ever C-Class Cabriolet in Geneva, it will now expand the range with the world premiere of the high-performance C63 AMG model in New York.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet will benefit the same upgrades as its close-top sibling and will be offered in two versions, the C63 and C63 S. Both models will take power from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, used on the C63 AMG family and AMG GT, delivering 469 horses in the C63 and 503hp in the C63 S.
Power will be sent to the asphalt through AMG’s 7-speed MCT transmission and while the Coupe needs just 3.9 seconds and 3.8 seconds, respectively for the base and ‘S’ model, the added weight of the Cabriolet will make it a little bit slower, while top speed should be capped at the same 155 mph (250 km/h).
Mercedes-AMG will offer the new C63 Convertible for sale this summer, along with the rest of the C-Class drop-top range.
Besides the high-performance C-Class Cabriolet, the three-pointed star will also display the GLC Coupe, the E43 AMG 4Matic and the facelifted versions of the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake at the New York Auto Show.
