Fresh off launching the new 570 GT, McLaren is pushing the development of the Sports Series range even further.

Two more models will be added to the 540C, 570S and 570 GT, called Sprint and GT4. The first one will continue where the 650S Sprint ,left off and is a track-only version, while the latter is a true racing car.

For the time being, McLaren has only provided details on the 570S GT4, which include this teaser shot. The racer will head over to the track this year, as part of its development program and will compete in the British GT Championship with team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse.

Adhering to the GT4-class regulations, the new 570S GT4 will share the engine and transmission with its street-legal version, the 570S, meaning a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch. The 562 HP output of the 570S will probably be reduced, as the organizers seek to level the field between all entries.

The GT4 benefits from a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, a first in the GT4 category, a unique aerodynamic package with large front splitter and rear wing, a clean interior with a roll cage and other features required for racing. The suspension has been tweaked too, there is an on-board air jacking system and new magnesium alloy wheels, wrapped in Pirelli slick rubber.

Its price tag has been set at £159,900 ($229,500 equivalent) and it will become available for the 2017 motorsport season.
