The Bentley Bentayga won’t be the carmaker’s only model offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain with new reports suggesting that the next-generation Continental will also be sold with a hybrid variant.

Rather than using the Bentayga’s system, Autocar claims that the Continental hybrid will actually be powered by the V6 plug-in hybrid setup of the Porsche Cayenne that offers up 410 hp.

Understandably, a range of other engines will be available. The range-topping second-gen Bentley Continental will draw its power from the Volkswagen Group’s new twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 that debuted in the Bentayga. It’s likely to remain in the same state of tune meaning it’ll deliver 600 hp, while the “base” model will use an updated twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8.

Beyond its engines, we know that the new model will ride on the MSB platform it’s co-developing with Porsche. To save even more weight, a number of body panels will be made from aluminum.
