Kia’s has just announced pricing and equipment trims for its compact crossover competitor in the US market.

The new Sportage will be available in the States in three trim levels: the LX, EX and SX Turbo.

Priced from $22,990, MSRP excluding destination and handling fee charges, the entry-level LX comes with standard LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, chrome window surround and rear privacy glass.

The cabin features a 5-inch touchscreen with rearview camera, 3.5-inch LCD cluster, Bluetooth, DMS (Drive Mode Select) with three modes, Normal, Eco and Sport, keyless entry and automatic headlights. Power comes from a 181hp GDI four-cylinder connected to a six-speed auto.

For $1,100 more, the LX Popular Package adds heated side mirrors, heated seats, 10-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, upgraded tricot cloth seats and roof rails, while paying an extra $900 will add the LX Cool and Connected Package that brings Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, new UVO 7-inch touchscreen and dual-zone automatic climate control with auto defog.

The mid-range FEWD EX starts from $25,500 and builds upon the LX Cool and Connected Package with leather seats, push-button start, smart key, fog lights, gloss black exterior trim and 18-inch wheels.

The EX Premium Package is a $1,900 extra. For your buck, you get Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, mirror-integrated LED turn signals, panoramic sunroof, power folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel and LED interior lighting.

At $2,700, the Technology Package offers a UVO 8-inch touchscreen, navi, Harman Kardon audio, front and rear parking assist, smart power liftgate, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, ventilated front seats and 8-way power passenger seat.

The 240hp Sportage SX Turbo range-topper costs $32,500. Adding to the EX Technology Package, the model brings larger front brakes, sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch wheels, dual exhaust pipes, front and rear metal-look skid plates, satin exterior trim, unique grille design, bi-xenon HID headlights and LED fog lights and taillights. Inside it has a flat-bottomed steering wheel, gloss black trim, metal pedals, dashboard stitching and a choice of five interior colors.

Finally, an additional $1,500 gets you the Magna Dynamax Intelligent AWD with its 50/50 locking center differential and torque vectoring.
