Stunt driver Alastair Moffat has set a new Guinness World Record, in a Subaru BRZ this time, for the Tightest 360° spin.

Moffat drove the Japanese sports car at a speed of roughly 30mph (48km/h) in a narrow lane of cars, spun it 360 degrees in just 2.25 meters of clearance and accelerated to the end of the course, in one continuous motion.

The previous record was 2.5 meters, achieved in 2014 by flicking the Subaru BRZ in a 360 degree spin between two obstacles, at the Autosport International’s Live Action Arena.

The Subaru BRZ was the perfect car in which to do it; light, highly maneuverable and easy to control. It’s great to have another record to my name“, said the stunt driver, right after the show.

No modifications were made to the Subaru BRZ, but the car had its traction control switched off and its ABS disengaged.

Alastair Moffat is also the current record holder for “Tightest Reverse Parallel Park”, set in November 2015 in a classic Mini Cooper after leaving a distance of 35 cm between his car and the vehicles in front and behind, and also the “Tightest Parallel Park”, set earlier last year with a Fiat 500.
