Four months after the debut of the Tiguan’s second generation, VW has opened the order books in Europe.

The new VW Tiguan will be available with two engines at launch, a 150PS 2.0-litre TDI and a 180PS 2.0-litre TSI, with the entry-level 125PS 1.4-litre TSI to follow shortly after, priced at €25,975 in Germany.

Until then, the base version of the Tiguan will be the 2WD diesel manual model, priced at €30,025 for the German market, followed by the AWD 2.0 TDI equipped with a DSG transmission and the range-topping 2.0TSI, also equipped with VW’s 4Motion AWD system and a DSG transmission.

Debuting in the new Tiguan, the new 4Motion Active Control optimally adapts the all-wheel drive system through four different driving modes: Onroad, Offroad, Snow and Offroad Individual. VW’s new SUV can also handle trailer loads of up to 2.5 tonnes.

The company’s first SUV model to use the MQB platform comes packed with the latest array of safety systems like the surroundings monitoring system Front Assist with City Emergency Braking, pedestrian monitoring and Lane Assist lane departure warning as standard.

The new Tiguan will be available in five different colors during launch, including Pure White, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Tungsten Silver, Atlantic Blue and Ruby Red.
