Driving Maserati cars close to the Arctic Circle on ice and snow is anything but cheap, but if you’re interested, the automaker announced its 2016 SnowMaster Experience program.
The course runs over four days and the itinerary reveals two driving days with Maserati instructors. Participants will get to handle high speed drifting control technique and to control the slip angle at speeds over 100km/h (62mph) on a circular track of more than 1km (0.6miles) long.
The schedule also indicates driving on a 1.5km (0.9miles) long track while controlling the car in transition from one bend to the next one, exploiting the pendulum effect and teaching the overall driving technique on different types of bends (gentle, chicane and hairpin) on a 3.5km (2.2miles) long track.
The second day of driving will take participants to full scale reproductions of famous tracks such as Nurburgring, Silverstone and Paul Ricard, where speeds of about 200km/h (124mph) will be hit.
Maserati’s SnowMaster Experience will take place in Arjeplog, Swedish Lapland, and it will set back a companion for €865 ($940), while prices for the driver stand at €5,959 ($6,478) and they include sleeping in a 5-star hotel, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, transfers from airport to hotel and so on. Air fares are not included in this cost.
For some extra cash, snowmobile drives become available at €250 ($272) / person for two hours and for a dog sled tour, that takes approximately 1.5 hours, the price depends on the number of participants and ranges between €150 and €350 ($163-380).
If Maserati has tickled your imagination with its winter driving course, then you should know that it will take place between March 13 and 16 and March 15 and 18. Eight participants per driving course are accepted and they will share four cars. Maserati is accepting registrations on its official website.
