This year has proven one of the most important for Porsche in recent memory following the release of numerous new models and unrivaled success on the racetrack including winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and walking away with the World Endurance Championship title.
Appropriately, the German automaker has released a clip highlighting its successes throughout the year and if you have any interest in one of the world’s most respected car companies, it is well worth a watch.
Certainly the two most important models released by the firm this year are the Cayman GT4 and latest 911 GT3 RS, both bound to be future collector’s cars. Also this year, Porsche introduced the new Boxster Spyder, Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Cayenne Turbo S and Macan GTS.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the facelifted 911 range was introduced. Complete with numerous interior and exterior modifications, the key development of the new 911 is the inclusion of turbocharged engines across all variants except those from Porsche’s GT department. The new engine produced is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder delivering between 370 hp and 420 hp.
Completing the year for Porsche was the reveal of the Mission-E concept, an all-electric sedan promising to redefine the market and take the electric crown from the Tesla Model S.
