A brief teaser video has just been released by VW previewing its all-electric concept set to debut at CES 2016, running from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.
This video follows on from a teaser photo previously released and appearing to show a minivan-shaped vehicle. This latest teaser seems to confirm the vehicle’s body shape as being that of a van with an upright tailgate and rear window visible as well as LED taillights stretching from the tailgate and up the rear pillar.
From the clip, it also appears that the new Volkswagen concept will be dubbed the ‘duo-e’, referencing both the car’s electric powertrain as well as its versatile body shape.
All the German automaker has had to say about the car so far is that it “marks the beginning of a new era of affordable long-distance electromobility” and will “demonstrate the benefits to the customer that VW will be able to deliver in the near future thanks to the increasing interconnectedness of the motor car”.
No further details about the car are known, but we believe there’s a good chance that alongside its electric powertrain, it will include some autonomous driving technologies.
Elsewhere at CES 2016, we know that VW will present its latest in-car infotainment technologies.
