Toyota has updated the 2016 model year Yaris in Britain, where the model is available for order.

The small hatch has gained a new Design grade, which replaces the Sport in the lineup and comes with standard features that include chrome fog lamp surrounds, gloss black honeycomb mesh grille, projector headlights, LED DRLs, rear spoiler, LED taillights, 16-inch black and machined-face alloy wheels, rearview camera, Bluetooth, DAB tuner, Toyota Touch 2 and cruise control.

Toyota also offers a new bi-color option, for £795, which provides an Eclipse Black metallic finish for the roof, A-pillars, side mirrors and upper grille, combined with Vermillion Red or Glacier Pearl White bodywork. The later has a two-tone grey seat upholstery and both add black headlining.

The Active hybrid version of the Yaris gets a new Spinne black cloth seat trim, while the Icon adds DAB digital radio, black Spinne seat trim, cruise control, rear privacy glass and new 15-inch alloys. The Excel, which becomes a hybrid-only trim, comes with automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cooled glovebox, rear power windows and 16-inch wheels.

Two factory-fitted option packs are also available, the Convenience (£950), with automatic headlights and wipers, keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone climate control and auto-folding mirrors, on the petrol and diesel Design versions, and the Premium Pack (£1,095), available on the Excel Hybrid, with a Skyview panoramic roof, Toyota Touc 2 with Go navigation, keyless entry, auto-folding side mirrors and rear spoiler.

Other options include the front and rear parking sensors, leather interior with contrast stitching, Go navigation for the Toyota Touch 2 and a Protection Pack. Last but not least, Toyota offers the Safety Sense, which can be specified for the Icon, Design and Excel versions, equipping the model with Automatic High Beam, Lane Departure Alert and Pre-Collision System.
