Bugatti has just confirmed the Chiron name, which will be used on the successor of the iconic Veyron, but in the meantime, another prototype was scooped on the open road.

This tester reveals the Chiron’s front fascia even better than before, as we notice the horse-shoe grille similar to the one used on the Vision GT and the headlights with incorporated LED DRLs and turn signals, a muscular hood and widened fenders.

Previous spy shots have showed a completely new rear end too, with the four centrally mounted exhaust pipes, an aggressive diffuser, double taillights with what seems to be an LED strip joining them together and a possible air brake.

The new image, posted by Instagram user max.knz, confirms what we basically knew, which is the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo inspired exterior design and, from what reports indicate, the same mid-engine and all-wheel drive layout used by its predecessor.

Under the hood, the 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo should be upgraded to as much as 1,500 PS (1,479 HP) and 1,500 Nm (1,107 lb-ft), allowing it to reach a top speed of around 435-450km/h (270-280mph) and 100 km/h (62mph) from a standstill in just over 2 seconds.

The new Bugatti Chiron will be officially presented to the public at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, next March.
