While it may be a little early for us to talk about a facelifted version of the one-year old Mercedes-AMG GT, looking at this rendering does raise a few interesting questions.
For starters, you could argue that it looks a little bit more aggressive with this SL facelift-style upside down grille. If you still can’t spot the difference, the bottom part of the grille in this rendering is longer compared to the existing car.
There’s also a crease between the upper corners of the grille and the upper part of the headlights, which definitely adds to the feeling of aggression. Would this be a bad way to approach the actual facelift of the AMG GT? We think not.
Another interesting point is how the artist managed to basically flip the grille without having to change the look of the front spoiler. In fact, all he did was make the air intakes bigger. Which brings us to question number two – how far could AMG go with this car in terms of changing its appearance in a couple of years time?
We certainly know that, until then, they’ll be focusing on new versions of the car and getting the performance numbers just right. That aside, are they just going to re-style it subtly or redesign the front end, just like they did in the revamped SL? No matter; they still have lots of time to think it over…
