Paul Walker’s tragic death needs official closure because the late actor’s family members are having a hard time believing the official story, which said that speed was to blame.
The late actor’s father has sued Porsche for negligence and wrongful death, and the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday, claims that the Carrera GT lacked safety features that could have saved him.
This isn’t the first time that a member of the Walker family sues Porsche alleging defects of the supercar in which the F&F star and longtime friend Roger Rodas lost their lives, as two months ago, Meadow Walker, the 16-year old daughter of late Paul Walker, filed a wrongful death claim in Los Angeles claiming that the car’s seatbelts were poorly designed.
Porsche’s response came in the form of a statement, from their North American division, which put the blame on “reckless driving” and “excessive speed”.
A previous investigation stated that the car was traveling between 80-93mph (128-149km/h) at the time of impact.
Kristine Rodas, Roger Rodas’ widow, also filed a lawsuit against Porsche, back in 2014, claiming that the car was traveling at 55mph (88km/h) when, due to a “malfunction”, it crashed.
