Alpina has introduced the updated 2016 B5 in two body styles, sedan and estate.

The latest B5s get the same improved 4.4-liter V8 engine found under the hood of the limited production Edition 50 B5 and B6 models, delivering 600 PS (592 HP) and 800 Nm (591 lb-ft) of peak torque.

Both the sedan and Touring B5 complete the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 4.2 seconds, with the four-door model proving to be a little bit faster from there on, reaching the 200km/h (124mph) mark in 12.7 seconds (Touring: 12.8 sec) and topping out at 328 km/h or 204 mph (Touring: 323 km/h or 201 mph).

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed ZF Sport-Automatic transmission, with the sedan returning a combined fuel consumption of 9.5 L/100km (24.8 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 221 g/km and the Touring, 9.6 L / 100km (25 mpg US) and 224 g/km respectively.

The two B5s get a sports suspension with electronically adjustable dampers and active roll stabilization, and ride on 20-inch rims shod in 255/35 front and 295/30 rear tires for the sedan, and 255/35 front and 285/30 rear rubber for the Touring model

Standard goodies include Merino leather seats, piano black interior trim and a limited slip-differential, while  customers can also get an optional high-performance braking system with fixed-calipers and an Akrapovic exhaust made from lightweight titanium that shaves 17 kg over the standard one.

Alpina has priced the 2016 B5 Bi-Turbo at €108,600 for the sedan and at €111,900 for the Touring.
