While the success of a police stakeout is generally determined by reality-based factors, having to lay low in a tiny car could be seen as problematic.
In order to point out just how roomy their Lodgy MPV can be, Dacia came up with a commercial that shows two guys (either undercover cops, private investigators or spies) trying to listen in on a conversation and take pictures while sitting in a very tiny and very “classic” car.
When the guy behind the wheel turns towards the backseat and then back facing the steering wheel, he accidentally presses the horn – which would probably never happen if he was driving a Lodgy? At least that seems to be the message this video is trying to send out.
Actually, the message of the video is ‘More space, less trouble’, which is generally true for all family cars, not just budget MPVs.
Also, if the action takes place in what looks like the 60s or 70s, that 2015 Lodgy might look a bit…conspicuous. Even by today’s standards, you’d probably want to stay away from large vehicles during stakeouts, but hey, we’re no experts.
The Lodgy itself is a pretty versatile car nowadays, having multiple engine configurations and versions. Aside from the regular model, customers can opt for the top of the range Stepway which brings a little more ruggedness – and is also available with the top of the range TCe 115 petrol engine.
Generally speaking, other engine configurations such as the dCi 90 & 110 turbodiesels should offer customers the best fuel economy, which matters a lot when discussing versatile 5 & 7-seat MPVs.
