Everyone knows that the most powerful production Lotus would be a hoot to drive, but we never had the chance to really hear the kind of music the supercharged V6 played.
Until now that is, as Lotus released a video clip which features their pride and joy being driven hard on road and on their test track at Hethel filling our speakers with the right kind of melodies a proper sports car should play.
The Lotus Evora 400 uses a supercharged, mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 that produces 400hp and 410Nm (302lb ft) of torque which sends the 1,395kg sports car to 60mph in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 186mph (300km/h).
A new limited-slip differential and a set of 370mm AP composite brakes are included as standard with Lotus also adding automatic climate control and an infotainment system with satellite navigation. Despite its undeniable speed, the Lotus Evora 400 remains still a road car, wanting to steal customers away from Porsche.
Lotus will offer the Evora 400 in the US market as a MY2017 model with a price of $89,900, with UK prices starting from £72,000 and €96,000 in the German market.
