Even though seeing Doc Brown and his time-traveling car on screen again should bring back awesome memories for most of us, some might feel a bit cheated that all we’re getting is a Blu-Ray & DVD box set promo.
Then again it wouldn’t be right if we expected some sort of a sequel or a remake, would it? The Back to the Future Trilogy made for a truly amazing experience back in the day and duplicating that recipe would probably end in disaster – kind of like how they went on to make too many Aliens movies or Terminator movies. At least the teaser ends with a “To be continued” message, just like the first two movies did…so knowing that there’s more to come is pretty exciting for fans of the trilogy.
The set where they filmed looks pretty authentic in the sense that it actually gives off a BTTF vibe, while Doc looks as agitated as always – though age has obviously caught up to him. Christopher Lloyd was in his late 40s and early 50s when they shot the trilogy and now he’s 77 years old, though just as charismatic as always.
Going back to the ‘sequel’ idea, not only did Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale refuse to give their OK, but Gale also stated that there can never be another Back to the Future film without Michael J Fox.
Kind of hard to disagree with them, isn’t it?
