Although the new Bentley Bentayga just officially debuted, rumors about a more powerful, sporty variant are starting to take shape.
Like almost every modern Bentley model, the Bentayga is bound to have – at one point – multiple variants or special editions. Bentley even showcased a carbon-fiber enhanced version at Frankfurt (the orange example) with some added goodies and a re-designed style cues that shelter various driver aid systems.
Still, there’s always room for harder, better, faster Bentleys, and a possible performance enhanced Bentayga could spawn. In fact, Autocar reported that Rolf Frech – Bentley engineering boss – explained that the standard Bentayga will not become the world’s first 200 mph (321 km/h) SUV because of the wide safety margins the company chooses for its tires. The first factory-stock SUV, we might add.
Anyway, Frech continued saying: “But that is not to say there will not be other variants in the future.” Furthermore, the British magazine went on reporting that Fritz Eichler, VW Group’s petrol engine chief, stated that the Bentayga’s new twin-turbocharged W12 engine is “only at the beginning of its potential” and that “there is a lot more to come”.
That said, let the renderings begin!
