Suzuki has revealed the most exclusive version of its new Vitara which it calls S Grade. This new trim stands for extra luxury and sportiness and actually has a fair few distinguishing features over lesser cars in the range.
The most notable can be found on the outside and it’s the five-slot grille that Suzuki says is borrowed from the iV-4 SUV concept shown at last year’s edition of the Frankfurt motor show.
The Vitara Grade S, which debuted this year at the fabled motoring venue, will draw its power from the (unfortunately named) 1.4 BOOSTERJET engine. The unit debuted in April at the Shanghai motor show and judging by the name, we expect it to have one million horsepower…
It doesn’t, however, making 138 hp instead; there’s also a downsized 1-liter version of the same unit (the 1.0 BOOSTERJET) with 110 hp, but that will probably be used in vehicles lower in the Suzuki range.
Other bits unique to the Grade S Vitara are the LED daytime running lights (and not headlights as the press information mistakenly suggests), leather- and suede-like material on the steering wheel and seats, plus standard Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), which in Suzuki marketing babble is known as RBS (short for Radar Brake Support).
