Ultima has come a long way in its 23-year-old existence.

Founded in 1992 by Ted Marlow and Richard Marlow, Ultima Sports LTD started making raw, super-machines without an army of engineers at its side. British folk would call the products “shed-built cars”. It may sound as a derogatory term, but it’s actually high-praise, especially as the things are capable of humiliating even high-end hypercars.

For example, an Ultima GTR720 equipped with racing slicks, managed to surpass the Top Gear 1:10:7 minute lap time set by Michael Schumacher in his Ferrari FXX track car. A “shed-built” car able to… ahem, beat an FXX. How’s that for rerouting your circuit boards?

Now, as you may recall, we already talked about Ultima’s latest Evolution model. A 1020 Hp beast, capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 Mph) in 2.3 seconds, from 0 to 160 Km/h (100 Mph) in 4.9 seconds and from 0 to 241 Km/h (150 Mph) in 8.9 seconds, onward to a top speed of 386 Km/h (240 Mph), or so.

Well, this is your chance to see the car moving (sort of), and hear its supercharged V8 LS Chevrolet roar. Yes, there are lots of questionable supercar firms claiming outrageous performance figures from their products, but how many have actually proven themselves on the track (we’ve added the record lap at Dunsfold Park down below).
