The Del Sol was Honda’s answer to the Mazda MX-5 and supposedly the successor of the successful CRX.
RCR drives a rare, bone-stock lovely example and share their thoughts on why this targa two-seater model failed to continue the CRX legend as well as pointing out the drawbacks such as the constantly leaking hard top.
Whether it was a worthy CRX successor or not, the Del Sol was better built than its ancestor and remained an entertaining car to drive, especially with the roof stored in the luggage compartment. But the Mazda MX-5 was better in serving driving thrills and more importantly it was a rear-wheel driven model.
Too bad most of them fell victims of the Fast And Furious trend.
