If you grew up in the 80s, or even early 90s, then you definitely know the TV show Knight Rider with its famous talking Pontiac Trans Am.
KITT was basically a dream car for all young automotive enthusiasts who kept their eyes glued to the screen as Michael Knight and his trusted autonomous sidekick would perform amazing stunts, drive at incredibly high speeds and sometimes even offer some comedic relief.
In fact you could frequently see KITT accelerate to 200 mph (322 km/h) and according to its own Wikipedia page, it would hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2 seconds flat and run a standing 1/4 mile in 4.2 seconds!
Say what? I don’t even remember the characters discussing those types of performance figures. A standing 1/4 mile in 4.2 seconds…that’s almost as fast as the world’s fastest dragsters.
Anyway, let’s not get too caught up in the past and see what we can discuss about this Knight Rider Tribute rendering. First of all, I see a wide-body kit, custom wheels (still black), side exhaust tips, front and rear carbon fiber wings and also something that looks like a very futuristic head-up display.
Oh and it says “Self Inflating” on the tires, which you had to have when you were off fighting bad guys.
