German car magazine Autobild caused a bit of a stir today with a set of pictures seemingly showing an uncovered 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe next to a Ford Mustang, but unfortunately, they’re Photoshops.

Leaving aside the fact that Mercedes would never give permission for a car that hasn’t been presented yet to be photographed next to another vehicle (even more so to one that isn’t even considered a rival), you can see that’s there’s something off with the side shots under the belt-line.

And if you’re still not convinced, if you translate the German text to English, right under one of the photos, there’s a caption that reads:

“For the meeting with the Mustang, we have unmasked the rear of the C-Class Coupé on the computer. In fact, the rear part in the film was packed.”

So, now you know the truth if these shots make it out on the net on as a leak.

Nevertheless, the CGIs are very nicely done and they do give us an accurate view of the upcoming, second-generation C-Class Coupe that will enjoy its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September, so head over to Autobild to check out the rest of them.
