Subaru released a series of updates for the XV compact crossover model in order to offer better refinement and improved handling.
More specifically, the Subaru XV now boasts a revised interior which according to the company has a higher quality feel, thanks to the all-new instrument cluster and new metallic and piano black trims throughout the cabin, from the center console, dashboard, steering wheel switchgear and arm rests. The automatic models gain a new shifter as well.
The completely redesigned LCD instrument panel now features blue dials with new graphics while Subaru has added its latest infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display, first seen on the latest Outback earlier this year.
The system can be operated via Subaru’s latest voice control facility while smartphone users can pair their phones via Starlink. Subaru has also added an extra USB port for better convenience among others.
The major changes happened under the skin, with Subaru focusing on improving the ride quality and reducing the NVH levels inside the cabin. The dampers have now their pitch rate lowered in order to offer a smoother ride than the earlier models while the rear suspension now features new spring rates to improve stability under cornering.
The steering rack is now 10% quicker, with 2.8 turns from lock to lock and the front cross-member also stiffened to further improve the XV’s responses. Subaru has also applied more soundproofing material throughout the car, improving passenger comfort, with new under-bonnet insulators, extra sound-deadening on the floor and new sealing and sound-absorbing materials around the front and rear quarters of the car.
Prices for the updated Subaru XV remain unchanged for the UK market, starting at £21,995 for the 2.0-litre petrol SE model and £23,995 for the 2.0-litre diesel SE model.
