Here’s another perfect example of how you shouldn’t get anywhere near traffic if you’re not aware of your surroundings.
If we were to assume that the guy driving the ATV was drunk or who knows what else, it would all be speculative. What we know for certain is that he chose to dive into traffic without checking to see if there was another car coming once he waited for the first lane to clear.
Unfortunately we don’t exactly get a good look at what happened, but one possibility is that the Yaris driver swerved, lost control, and the rest is more than clear – he ended up skidding into incoming traffic.
The crash was pretty brutal, and I hope everybody is alright, but what really makes me angry is seeing the guy limp back on his ATV and run away. Hopefully somebody got a good look at him, or got a license plate so that the police can track him down.
The guy wasn’t even wearing any protective gear. Heck, it looks like he was in sandals! Which by the way, is something a lot of ATV drivers own up to in certain countries.
It’s the same with bikers that don’t wear helmets and ride around in shorts and slippers. That type of ignorance will always trickle down and manifest itself with a little help from Murphy’s Law.
Another possibility is that the ATV actually clipped the rear end of the Toyota Yaris, directly causing it to spin.
Either way, that dude needs to answer for his actions.
