Oh, boy, here we go again. Car versus motorcycle. Car lovers know that a motorcycle is no match for an automobile when it comes to twisty roads. But is that actually true?
Well, it depends on lots of factors. The type of car, the type of twisty road, the type of bike and, of course, the type of driver and rider. I’d say that in a clash of the titans, a car will certainly win, because usually it carries greater speed through the corners. Just to prove my point, here’s a video with a lesser Megane RS holding on to a S1000-RR Beemer, for a short while, on the Nurburgring.
Of course, the French automobile eventually gets put in its place by the BMW’s savage accelerations, but you have to hand it to the Renault driver for keeping up with superbike royalty.
Okay, maybe the traffic had something to do with the car’s performance and the bumpy track on the Green Hell does make you think twice before flooring a motorcycle, but one thing is certain: Maneuvering that bike, at high speed, in such a manner, on the Nurburgring, exiting the Karussell, requires cojones of steel.
That Megane wouldn’t have stood a chance anywhere else. Watch the video Full HD on 50FPS – the sense of speed is mind boggling.
