Aston Martin is giving us a taster of what to expect from the limited production Vulcan when it runs up the hill at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015.
A rival to the LaFerrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR, the Vulcan is an extreme track-only special of which 24 examples will be made priced at £1.5 million (US$2.4 million / €2.1 million) plus local taxes with first deliveries due at the end of this year.
The British firm’s entry into the exotic hypercar field is built around a modified version of the One-77’s lightweight carbon fiber tub.
Power comes from the most potent normally aspirated engine in production right now, a 7.0-liter V12 pumping out more than 800 horses that are channeled to the rear wheels through an Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox.
