Sergio Marchionne, Ferrari’s new chairman, has ruled out any four-door models for the company’s current production plan. This is good news for most fans of the Prancing Horse, although some of them may have a change of heart after seeing this rendering from Theophilus Chin.

The digital artist wanted to see what a Ferrari crossover would look like and used the biggest model from Maranello, the FF, as a reference. He basically added a pair of doors and raised the ground clearance, calling the result the Ferrari FX. It does look surprisingly good, although unnatural because Ferrari has never sold a four-door model to the general public.

So here comes the big question: would you approve of Ferrari producing something like this if it allowed the company to continue rolling out fantastic sports cars?

Although I like the rendering, I hope it doesn’t come to this because a practical car is probably the last thing Enzo Ferrari would have thought about building.
