By now, we’re all used to Carlex coming up with tremendous custom interiors. This BMW Z4 however, has a few more tricks up its sleeve.
But first, let’s touch on the two-tone exterior wrap of the so called BMW Z4 Rampant. The silver & gray works really well with the gun metal alloys and so the car ends up looking very special – one would think.
Other exterior mods include the custom front and rear bumpers, quad exhaust system and the carbon diffuser. But what really got our attention is the interior of this thing.
You’re looking at a mixture of black Alcantara and buffalo leather, and hand painted carbon parts. It’s truly remarkable, and those seats look like they’re from the future.
As for what under the bonnet, we’re talking about a naturally aspirated V8 unit straight out of the E92 BMW M3, which means this car should easily outrun both the current Z4 sDrive35is as well as the previous generation Z4 M.
It’s always nice to see a heavily modified car that’s not all show and no go. With what is probably 420-horses and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of peak torque, Carlex’s creation may have graduated to being a late 3 second car as far as its 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is concerned.
If we had to pick our favorite mod it would be this – the fact that they strapped a naturally aspirated V8 underneath that muscular bonnet. Oh, and the wheel design is simply put, spectacular.
