Before 1981, Wörthersee was an ordinary lake in south Austria surrounded by a few quiet towns. Then all Hell broke loose….
Thanks to the massive European Volkswagen cult, Worthersee has evolved, over the years, in the biggest automotive festival that celebrates the “people’s car“.
The 32nd edition of the show will take place this week, between May 13 and 16, and for this reason, we’ve shared a selection of videos from the previous edition to put you up to speed on what’s going on over there.
Basically, owners of hunkered down, custom versions of Volkswagens, Audis, Seats and Skodas will run the show, though everybody with a stanced, flushed, dubbed and other (lame or not) car is welcome.
Worthersee is also backed up by the VW Group and as a thank you present to their followers, each year the company creates a number of concepts and show cars to thrill the public.
Just so you know, wheel fitment is king over there. Enjoy the videos!
