As promised when it celebrated the milestone of 500 million units built worldwide, GM has surprised five loyal customers a free vehicle over the course of 48 hours.

The first of these customers was U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient Trent Brining, who received an all-new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu at last week’s global kick-off event at GM’s Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas. The new-generation Malibu will be built there later this year.

The second lucky winner was Supot Khwankoom, a farmer from Thailand who saved to purchase his family’s first vehicle. GM gave him a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck for free.

The third free vehicle, an Opel Zafira Tourer, went to Anna Katharina Dionysius from Germany, whose Opel Astra was totaled in a collision while she emerged unscathed. For this, she calls the designers and engineers of her Astra her “heroes.”

A brand new Chevrolet Trax was awarded to Da Shuo, an entrepreneur from China known for his peach-and-purple-painted Chevrolet Cruze. Known as the “Purple Bullet,” the car inspired his customization business.

Finally, the fifth free vehicle went to Amandio Palhares and Joselle Pinheiro, avid travelers from Brazil who traveled nine months in their Chevrolet truck across 16 countries from Brazil to Alaska. GM presented them with a Chevrolet Cruze which they can use for another cross-continent journey.
