We really have to hand it to Skoda. They’ve build a great looking mid-sized saloon, that’s more elegant and more practical than its rivals, according to the Czech manufacturer.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Superb. And why not? It’s been the most comfortable car in its class for the past two generations, which is something that the all-new model might also bring to the table. Currently, the Mondeo is the only one that can challenge it in terms of overall comfort.
Then you’ve got the cabin which features high quality materials that also happen to look good, which could even fool you into thinking that you’re looking at a premium product.
Speaking of premium, Skoda has this ‘Simply Clever’ thing that’s been working for them for a while now. It’s a way for you to better identify with their brand. Or better yet, a way for them to identify the type of customer that would choose a Skoda (any type of Skoda), over a VW, Ford, Opel/Vauxhall and so on.
With the all-new 3rd generation Superb model, Skoda is also focusing on practicality. As you’ll see from this series of short ads, the new Superb comes with umbrellas in both front doors, a “Virtual Pedal” sensor that will pop open the trunk for you simply by detecting your foot, an “Easy Open” cup holder helping you open your water bottles on the go and cargo elements that could prove useful as well.
Skoda really hits the nail on the head by using the expression “Would be clever anywhere” at the end of each video. Not only are these features helpful in a car, they would definitely make your life easier even when you aren’t anywhere close to your Superb.
