It does at least for those 42 seconds of air time that the Jaguar XE has in this ad. If you’re in the market for a premium sports saloon, wouldn’t this car make a lot of sense?
Think about it. You’ll find Audi A4s and C-Class Mercs everywhere. Not to mention the BMW 3 Series which is definitely the go-to car in this segment for those who also want a bit more of a sporty feel behind the wheel.
However, the Jaguar XE just feels a little more exclusive. Even now you’d be right to assume that there will never be as many XEs on the streets as there are A4s, 3 Series’ and so on. It’s a good looking car, with a good looking interior and first reviews have already confirmed that it is indeed a sporty car.
Sure, you won’t get to have your pick of engines, at least not as many as you would if you were configuring a BMW 3-Series, especially when it comes to entry level models, but still the XE offers a good mix of capable petrol and diesel units which should satisfy.
The XE S in this very well made and very appealing spot is the 340 HP version, which can get you from sitting pretty at the lights to doing 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.1 seconds. And that’s about as quick as an Audi S4 mind you.
