After showing it off at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Honda is hoping that their 3rd generation Pilot will win over the hearts and minds of families across North America.

We don’t know about hearts, since it’s not the best looking SUV you can buy, but the 2016 Pilot should definitely appeal to your rational side, as it brings with it a host of features meant to make your life a lot easier both on and off the road.

The all-new 2016 Pilot will go on sale this summer, with a more powerful 3.5 liter V6 engine, producing 280 HP, and new 6-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions.

There’s also a new Intelligent Traction Management system that works a lot like LR‘s Terrain Response with its Normal, Mud, Sand and Snow modes available on the AWD model. The 2WD model will only get Normal and Snow modes, for obvious reasons.

Breaking down the trim levels, we have LX, EX, EX with Honda Sensing, EX-L, EX-L with Honda Sensing, Touring and the new top of the line Elite trim level that comes standard with panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, second-row heated captain’s chairs, LED headlights with auto high-beam, rain sensing wipers, Blind Spot Information System with Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and front and 2nd row illuminated beverage holders.

The entry-level LX model sounds good as well, with standard on-board systems such as the Hill Start Assist, Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring, LED brake lights, remote entry, 5″ color LCD screen and a 200-watt audio system with 7 speakers plus a subwoofer.
