Is the Porsche Cayman GT4 the epitome of the sports car as we currently know it? It’s had huge critical acclaim for being “the car the Cayman should have been all along,” even if it’s by no means the fastest thing on the road.
EVO reviewer Dickie Meaden agrees with all the previous praise that’s been thrown at the GT4, and also wants viewers to make a clear distinction between ultra high performance cars and driver’s cars.
The GT4 is obviously one of the latter, and it’s hugely impressive as a car in that category. It really needs a driver, as the reviewer points out, and it’s a car you can take great joy in controlling well, even if you’re not the fastest out there.
This car makes pretty much all other sports cars and supercars out there look either not capable enough or overkill for most driving situations. The GT4 sounds like a car you can exploit with great pleasure on the road too, and while it is firmer than the standard car, it’s not unbearable, especially if you know what you’re getting into and expect it.
