Factory Porsche driver Brendon Hartley took the all-new 911 GT3 RS to the Nardo test track, in order for us to better understand what it’s like to drive one of the world’s ultimate track cars.
If not THE ultimate track car – as the 911 GT3 RS has already proven to be faster by 5 seconds around the Nurburgring than the non-RS GT3. It was also 9 seconds faster than the Carrera GT, which just goes to show what an amazing machine this is.
In fact, you wouldn’t know it by just looking at its power and peak torque figures. At 493hp (500PS) and 460 Nm (338 lb-ft) of torque, you can hardly call it a supercar these days.
Still, it’ll get you from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in just 3.3 seconds, and keep in mind, this is a good old fashioned naturally aspirated engine – you know..the type of engine that hardly ever gets made anymore.
Watching it on the track is a great experience. As you’ll be able to see from the video, it looks remarkably quick in the corners. And Brendon seems to have a lot of skill too. He even made his cameraman sick.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is also, arguably, the best looking 911 ever. It’s got that aggressive Turbo look thanks to the wider arches but also that massive rear wing.
It’s definitely the type of car you need to take very seriously.
