The Opel Karl / Vauhall Viva is not an exciting car or particularly good looking, but it is quite spacious inside and will be very affordable too. It was just unveiled at the Geneva motor show, and Carbuyer’s Matt Watson was there to tell us how much rear legroom it has.
So how much of it has it got? Well, a lot given its dimensions; the Karl is actually slightly bigger in size than its VW Up! or Hyundai i10 rivals and this translates into excellent head and knee room in the back.
You can apparently even sit three on the rear bench, although we’re pretty sure shoulder space will be tight; the manufacturer will offer the Karl with individual rear seats so that two occupants will be more comfortable.
It’s going to be the fact that it’s keenly priced, not offensive to look at and we presume fairly efficient and easy to drive at the same time. These will be the selling points, although I`m afraid to say that compared to other models in this class, it lacks personality, something which even the square-ish VW manages to pull off much better.
