The Vulcan, a limited-production track-only special that they’re only making 24 of, is a very pretty car, and very unusual looking for an Aston Martin. Its designer, Marek Reichman, was on hand at the Geneva motor show to explain what it’s all about and XCar was there to hear what he had to say.

So the Vulcan is the ultimate interpretation of what Aston Martin’s pinnacle GT racer vision would look like. It strays from usual brand design cues, in the quest to showcase a possible new design direction.

The grille at the front is not very Aston-like, nor are the small lights that are designed to not be as noticeable as on regular cars – they look small and are carefully placed to great effect.

The highlight for me are probably the rear lights, though. Using LEDs, Aston was able to create clusters that mimic the distortion caused by warp speed – they appear elongated and will probably look amazing all lit up on a moving car.
